Artist and architect, Volkan Alkanoglu has been awarded commissions for the creation and installation of public art in civic and university spaces nationally and internationally. His portfolio includes public art, as well as building, interior, and furniture design. He is currently teaching at Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Volkan Alkanoglu was selected to create the public art installation for the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building (ILSB).It is envisioned the artwork, “INFLIGHT”, will echo the spirit of scientific curiosity, collaboration, and inquiry and will embody the inclusive excellence and intellectual rigor of the UMBC community.
